After my sojourn in Seoul, I left for Busan on 7 19.
On that morning, I went to take the metro alone planning to catch the train to Busan on time.
I've estimated the time I need for transferring trains but stange to say, I ended up finding myself being in crisis near KTX station.
(I should have left from the Jin Guest House earlier!)
It was almost 9 o'clock when I arrived at Seoul Station. When I got out of the Exit 12, I could see the KTX Railway Station in front of me. But I couldn't cross the road directly since I was stranded in a big intersection! It seemed that the only way to go to the KTX was to go back into the metro and find the right exit to it.
Oh! I was hopeless and worrying about not being able to catch the train. To make matters worse, I had a big luggage with me!
But at that moment, my hero came to me! (T T)
He was a middle-aged man, carrying a briefcase and heading for his company during the rush hour.
When I asked him for the direction, he not only gave me the right direction but also"excorted" me to the KTX.
Along the way, he insisted on carrying my luggage by himself! (He was really a gentleman to me, insteasd of "아저씨"!)
Also, to my surprise, he said "You're prettey." in Chinese to me.
(To be honest, I looked like rather than a refugee at that time.= =)
Meeting this man may be one of the most unexpected and unforgetable memories along my journey in Korea.
But for this man's timely help, I would have missed the train to Busan.
When I got on the train saying goodbye to him, I was planning to ask him for his email or other contact info so that I can do something to express my gratitude to him in return. But I didn't. The door just closed.
I would remember his benevolence forever; his kindness undoubtedly serves as a good reminder for me that I should also help other foreigners more when I am in Taiwan. : )
Though it takes five hours to Busan by Mulgunghwa Train(無窮花號),
I still chose to take it rather than KTX since it is much cheaper (W25'000).
Per KTX ticket costs W45'000.
En route from Seoul to Busan, I had a few fitful hours of sleep. XD
(I could only remember that different people took turns sitting next to me along the trip.)
Finally after 5 hours' travel time, I arrived at Busan!
Rain welcomes me! See?
KTX Railway Station is so clean, which makes travellers feel so relaxed and comfortable.
When I arrived at the meeting point, I saw many campers already waiting there.
(What a nice poster! So cute and warm! Can you see Taiwan?)
Before we went to our accommodation, we took the metro to the office first to meet our host organization, Wild Life Web(생명그물)
We had some ice-breaking activities there. :D This time, actually, I didn't feel nervous at all since every camper looked so nice.
Jihae(Left) is the camp leader. She's so nice and looks a little bit like "林志玲". ^^
Ania (Right) is a vivid Polish girl who smiles so often.
I was really impressed by her ebullient charm and had lots of fun with her throughout the camp.
We lived in the guest-house located in Mulmang village.
Mulmang village, where a low-income group living together, is on a small mountain in Busan.
Within a 30-minute walk, you can go from Mulmang village to the top of the mountain.
From the mountain, there's a superb panorama of Busan and you can soak up the whole view.
